Headway provides information, support and services to people with a brain injury, their families and carers. They have eight support groups across Wales, in Conwy, Gwynedd, Anglesey, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Swansea, Bridgend and Cardiff. More details through their useful website and helpline.
The Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust tries to help people to regain their skills after a brain injury. They offer a range of services including assessment, rehabilitation, long-term housing care and community-based support.
A children's charity with 26 years
experience of working with children who have
a brain injury, chromosome or genetic condition resulting in
disability or developmental delay. They also support families with
children who have autism.
Though they do not operate in Wales at present, the Child Brain Injury Trust website has some useful information and factsheets for parents or carers of children with an acquired brain injury.
A good source of information for all who are in the field of acquired brain injury, the forum seeks to raise awareness and improve services for those who have such injuries.
