Invitation to tender: Welsh version of a nature series

Welsh version of the nature series The Burrowers

S4C has acquired a 3 x 60 minute nature series called The Burrowers. We invite ideas from production companies who have a wealth of experience of the wildlife/nature genre and of working on co-productions.

S4C and the successful production company will have the right to shoot additional material for the Welsh version. We have estimated a maximum of 18 days filming during the filming period of 10 months. You will be expected to provide your own film crew and to work closely with the international production team during the production period. S4C will name the presenter for the Welsh series. The series (including the additional material for the Welsh version) will be filmed in High Definition.

We will award the work on a value for money basis and on the basis of editorial content which satisfies our audience requirements.

If you are interested in applying for the work, please contact Kathryn Edwards (kathryn.edwards@s4c.co.uk) for further information. We aim to appoint the successful company by Friday 23rd November 2012 and you should e-mail you ideas to the Factual Commissioner (llion.iwan@s4c.co.uk) by 16:00 on Wednesday 21st November 2012.

We kindly request that you do not contact the producers of the international version for the time being. You are more than welcome to discuss the production and the further information with the Factual Commissioner Llion Iwan.
