Tomi Morgan has been appointed as Carmarthen Town manager following Deryn Brace’s resignation on Monday.

A brief statement from Richmond Park confirmed Brace, who had been manager since May 2007, had left the club: "Deryn Brace felt that the club needed a new face to ensure further success."

This will be the second time that Morgan, who left his last post as manager of Porthmadog following the club’s relegation to the Cymru Alliance at the end of last season, will have been in charge at Richmond Park having spent a six seasons in the hot seat between 1998 and 2003.

In that time he led Carmarthen to their first ever Welsh Cup Final in 1998 before losing on penalties to Inter Cardiff.

And in 2001 the Old Gold had their first taste of European football taking on AIK of Sweden in the Intertoto Cup but, following a string of poor results, Morgan was sacked in 2003.

Following a brief but succesful period at Penrhyncoch, Morgan returned to the Welsh Premier League in 2003/04 taking the reins at Welshpool Town for four seasons before moving to Porthmadog in February 2009.
