Coleman to call up for Lynch

Sgorio understands that Wales manager, Chris Coleman, will call on Nottingham Forest defender Joel Lynch, for the friendly against Mexico in New York later this month.

Lynch, who qualifies for Wales as his father is from Barry, was a vital player for the Championship club last season making 39 appearances and scoring three goals.

The 24 year old will join his Forest team mate, Chris Gunter in the squad providing the Football Association of Wales receive proof of his father’s Welsh roots.

Coleman is expected to lose a few players from his original squad with midfield players Joe Ledley and David Vaughan both doubtful because of injuries.

And Blackpool defender, Neal Eardley, will miss the trip because of his participation in the Championship play off final against West Ham.

The game will be held at the MetLife Stadium, New York, home of American Football teams, the New York Jets and New York Giants and the venue for the 2014 Super Bowl.

This will be the fourth time Wales have played a match in a third country having faced Brazil at White Hart Lane, London in 2005, Triniadad & Tobago in Graz, Austria in 2006 and Poland in Vila Real, Portugal in 2009.
